Girls' Cricket at Golden Hill
Girls' cricket at Golden Hill has blossomed since its inception in 2016, thanks to the dedicated efforts of an enthusiastic group of parents. Over the years, this initiative has transformed the lives of many young girls, allowing them to grow as individuals and develop essential life skills such as confidence and leadership through the dynamic realm of cricket. The welcoming environment at Golden Hill fosters not just athletic development but also lasting friendships, with many girls maintaining connections from their junior school days all the way through to senior school, creating a tight-knit community that values both friendship and personal growth.

Cricket is an extraordinary outlet that encourages girls to embrace an active lifestyle while cultivating a genuine love for sports. At Golden Hill, we prioritise creating an inclusive atmosphere where every girl has the chance to participate, regardless of skill level or experience. Starting from Year 1, we introduce cricket through engaging softball formats such as kwik cricket games and drills. The focus is firmly on fun and enjoyment, ensuring that girls are not required to have any specific kit to join in, making it accessible for everyone who wishes to be a part of the team.
Girls and women now account for more than 41% of the total membership, highlighting the success and growth of our focus on women's and girls' cricket in recent years. For newcomers, we offer taster sessions where prospective members can experience the joy of cricket without any immediate commitment.

The ethos at Golden Hill Cricket Club is clear: we are committed to giving girls a chance and encouraging their participation in the sport. Our comprehensive club policies ensure safety and compliance with the latest ECB policies and guidelines, providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all young athletes. Whether through indoor training or outdoor sessions, we invite girls from all backgrounds to discover the excitement of cricket.
