GOLDEN HILL SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB
Golden Hill Sports Limited is a registered charity (registration no. 1118954) and a company limited by guarantee (registration no. 6046640), dedicated to fostering community and a love for sports. Golden Hill Sports incorporates Golden Hill Cricket Club and Golden Hill Sonics Football Club.
Golden Hill Social Club Limit is the entity responsible for the management and operation of the Keith Milsom Pavilion, including venue hire and bar.
Golden Hill Cricket Club, originally founded as YMCA Cricket Club back in 1878, carries over a century of tradition and sporting spirit.
Our home is on Wimbledon Road in Henleaze, where we have been based since 1902. In 2008, Golden Hill Sports purchased the grounds from the national YMCA charity, paving the way for major upgrades and a revitalised space for sports lovers and the community alike.
CRICKET
Golden Hill Cricket Club brings the action with eight Saturday league teams (and occasionally a 'Friendly 9th XI') competing across the Bristol & District League and the West of England Premier League. Our women's teams shine in the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation Competitions and the West of England Premier League, with both long-format and T20 matches in the mix.
With around 300 young members, our junior division offers top-notch opportunities for both boys and girls. They compete in the Bristol Youth Cricket League, Gloucestershire Youth Cricket League and the Women's and Girls' Competitions hosted by the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation.
Golden Hill Cricket Club is an ECB-accredited Clubmark and Disability Champion Club and we're proud to be one of the few clubs in the region providing cricket opportunities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring that everyone gets a chance to join the game.
FOOTBALL
Golden Hill Sonics Football Club has a unique set-up, measuring success by the pleasure and opportunity given to local youngsters rather than the number of cups and trophies won.
Boasting no less than 11 age group squads and a membership of around 220 players, Golden Hill Sonics FC has established itself as an important part of the broader Golden Hill Sports family and community.
Golden Hill Sonics Football Club is a popular club run predominantly by parents, offering coaching and games with an emphasis on fun and participation to children aged between 6 and 18.
Golden Hill Sonics FC is committed to improvement - as individuals and as a team, respectful, values teamwork and team play by the laws and spirit of the game while fostering friendship and a love for football.
SOCIAL
Golden Hill Social Club is responsible for the management and operation of the Keith Milsom Pavilion and runs a fully stocked bar that is open to members and their guests.
Social Membership is available to members of the Golden Hill Sports community, as well as local residents and friends of Golden Hill.
Golden Hill Social Club organises a number of social events throughout the year to raise funds for the benefit of Golden Hill Sports, Golden Hill Cricket Club and Golden Hill Sonics Football Club.
Some of the more popular events include quiz nights, silent discos, community barbecues and the hugely popular Party in the Park, our flagship event that has been taking place annually since 2007.
The Keith Milsom Pavilion is available to hire for meetings, talks, fitness classes, parties and more and we can even arrange catering and run the bar for your event! Please get in touch to find out more!
